Prior to starting at HCC, Max spent a few years learning the ropes of the business at the Links at Outlook in South Berwick, ME. He has received a degree in Horticulture from the University of New Hampshire as well as a Turf Grass Management degree from Rutgers University. He then acquired the position at Haverhill CC and has been learning under previous head superintendent Matt Behl, ever since.
Before moving to New England in 1999, Max spent most of his childhood travelling the world. He was born in the Falkland Islands off the southernmost tip of Argentina not far from Antarctica. He has spent many years in the south pacific mainly in American Samoa and Hawaii. Before coming to the cold New Hampshire winters the majority of Max’s childhood was spent out west in Arizona and California. He met his wife Kori shortly after high school and in 1999 moved to her hometown in New Hampshire and has never looked back. Max has been fortunate enough to raise two beautiful daughters, Victoria who is a freshman at Ithaca College in NY, and Alethea who is also a freshman at Dover High School in Dover, NH. Max has been a golfer since he could hold a club and has never felt more at home than on a golf course. His love for the game got him interested in turf management and he has developed a passion for maintaining a golf course ever since.
